Home Grown

I have been planting my vegetable garden with the onset of Winter and have found that it is growing better this year than in the past few years. Mind you the weather has been perfect, cool and Sunny with the nights quite brisk if that is possible in Far North Queensland but compared to normal it has been freezing.  Yesterday I picked the first of the Pak Choy and it tasted so fresh and crisp you just don't realise how much different the home grown vegetables are until you have them. This year I have tried to use only organic fertilisers and insecticides and have found Seasol and Powerfeed to be great fertilisers when used regularly these can now be purchased in 1lt Casks from Bunnings and are very economical and very convenient in this form. With the insecticide you can use a Pyrethrum based liquid or as I do use Neem based products which I find work very well.

Flea Problems

To anyone out there having a problem with fleas on their dogs during the wet weather i have the answer it's called Comfortis and is a miricle i had tried everything with no success at all them my vet put me on to these tablets and they work within a couple of hours and are a once a month dose.
My Dogs have been flea free from that day on truely the best thing i have ever used.

Hi All

Last night I went out for dinner this in itself is not an unusual thing for most people but
I don't get the chance to go out very often so this was something I was looking forward to
We all arrived early for the family dinner about 20 of us we had made a booking so we did not arrive unannounced. The order was placed for the whole table nice and early but we waited for an hour and a
half for the meal then as i have found many times before the meal was dried out and i could have cooked better myself. On the bright side the company was great and the service was Ok.
Next time I am invited to go for a meal I might do some research on the venue and see if anyone
has been there before so i can order a fresher more appetising meal.
The best thing was that I got out and spent some time with family this made all else seem small.
